When a Babysitter Falls in Love - Chapter 15
“Look over here.”
When Jun-Woo opened the book and tapped on the page, Hyun-Woo quickly looked down at it. Traffic lights and road signs from various countries were neatly organized with explanations. Jun-Woo pointed at Korea’s traffic light and asked.
“This?”
“Yeah. That’s right. Should we make a traffic light with yellow, green, and red paper and play with it? Jun-Woo will be the driver, and hyung will be the traffic light.”
“Mm…… Secretary Chown?”
“Chown?”
“He means me. Secretary Cheon.”
“Ah, that Cheon.”
Hyun-Woo, who kept forgetting that Guk Hee’s surname was “Cheon,” turned around with an apologetic expression.
“I’m sorry, Secretary Cheon.”
“It’s all right. Sometimes I want to forget that surname too.”
“Haha…… I see.”
Laughing awkwardly, Hyun-Woo thought for a moment. Then he winked at Jun-Woo, who was looking at him with anticipation.
“Secretary Cheon will be the traffic police officer.”
“Yeah. I’ll do it.”
“Good. Secretary Cheon, do you have colored paper?”
Jun-Woo answered energetically, the corners of his eyes curling upward, showing just how happy he was. Feeling strangely moved, Hyun-Woo deliberately answered in a lively voice and prepared to make the traffic light.

Pii, pii.
“Wait a second. Why are you suddenly blowing the whistle? Jun-Woo was driving just fine.”
Hyun-Woo, who had been standing there holding a blue flag, looked at Guk Hee, who was wearing a police officer’s hat, when the sudden sound of a whistle rang out. Jun-Woo, riding a Lamborghini impressive enough to draw admiration, also stuck out his lips and turned around.
“I was breathing, and without realizing it, I ended up doing that. I apologize, young master.”
“That’s why you should only blow it when necessary. It happened because you kept it in your mouth.”
Hyun-Woo turned his gaze back to Jun-Woo, who was holding the steering wheel, and waved the flag again.
“Secretary Chown, quiet.”
“Yes, young master.”
“Jun-Woo, don’t move the steering wheel. Press it slowly and come this way.”
“Okay.”
The electric toy car Jun-Woo was riding moved forward with a heavy rumbling sound as its wheels rolled over the ground. Hyun-Woo had not known there was such a wide lawn behind the mansion. When he found Jun-Woo’s electric car among the many cars parked in Kang Wook’s private garage, Hyun-Woo let out a short scream because it was so adorable. As Guk Hee brought the car out, he explained that the lawn had been relaid not long ago so Jun-Woo could ride to his heart’s content.
Watching Jun-Woo carefully grip the steering wheel and press the accelerator, Hyun-Woo slowly lowered the green flag and raised the yellow one. He had taught him that yellow meant he should step on the brake and prepare to stop, and Jun-Woo understood it right away.
The problem was Guk Hee. Whether he was impatient, or whether he thought it would be unacceptable not to blow the whistle when the red flag appeared, the moment the yellow flag fluttered, his face already tensed with effort. Hyun-Woo quickly looked at Guk Hee and shook his head.
Guk Hee nodded as if he understood and stared fixedly at Hyun-Woo’s hand. When the electric car slowly reduced its speed, Hyun-Woo changed the yellow flag to the red flag. At once, a powerful whistle rang out through the garden.
When the car reached the entrance of the parking garage, Tae-Geon pressed the button for the automatic door system. The garage door slid upward without a sound, and as soon as it did, a loud whistle rang out. The gazes of everyone inside the car turned toward the source of the sound at once. Man-Jun was already preparing to jump out.
“Uh…… isn’t that Guk Hee hyung?”
Squinting at the person standing there in a strange hat, Man-Jun spoke in a surprised voice.
“No way, Guk Hee hyung is……. Yes, it’s him. The young master is there too. Babysitter Seo is also there.”
Tae-Geon looked from Hyun-Woo, who was holding a flag, then turned back and checked Kang Wook’s expression.
“It seems they are playing some kind of game.”
“Open the door.”
They had also entered Kang Wook’s line of sight. Seeing Jun-Woo looking up at Hyun-Woo with a flushed face, Kang Wook felt a strange sensation. When he saw Hyun-Woo raising the green flag with a smile bright enough to be clearly visible even from where he stood, he narrowed his eyes.
He had no choice but to admit that Hyun-Woo was getting along well with Jun-Woo. Jun-Woo, who was quite shy around strangers, was happily showing off his treasured car after just one day, and Kang Wook did not like that at all.
Even if Hyun-Woo was a professional, a taekwondo black belt, and someone meant to soothe his own mood, Kang Wook had never intended to keep Hyun-Woo in the house for long from the beginning. If Jun-Woo became more than just moderately attached to him, it could become a problem later.
“Aren’t they getting too close?”
“Wouldn’t it be good if the young master follows him well?”
“No, it’s not good.”
Cutting off Tae-Geon’s words at once, Kang Wook got out of the car. The others quickly followed him out, but he was already striding toward Hyun-Woo and Jun-Woo.
“The traffic light has changed to green. Driver, please proceed slowly.”
“Yes.”
At Hyun-Woo’s words, Jun-Woo obediently answered and started the car. Then Guk Hee, his police hat bobbing, followed after Jun-Woo.
“Don’t come.”
As if he disliked being followed around, Jun-Woo shook his head and said this to Guk Hee.
“Young master, traffic police officers are originally supposed to move along like this. Ah, Chairman!”
Perhaps because he stopped walking so suddenly, the hat on Guk Hee’s head dropped to the ground with a thud. Hyun-Woo, who had spotted Kang Wook walking across the garden, stood frozen while holding the flags. Only Jun-Woo remained unflustered. He turned the steering wheel and drove the car toward Kang Wook.
“Daddy?”
Jun-Woo asked in surprise, as if this was also the first time he had seen Kang Wook this early. The nuance was, “Is that really Daddy?” Without taking his eyes off Hyun-Woo, whose arm was raised, Kang Wook surprisingly lifted Jun-Woo into his arms. Jun-Woo’s small arms wrapped around Kang Wook’s shoulders. To anyone watching, it was the image of an affectionate father holding his son.
“What were you doing?”
“We played traffic light. Secretary Cheon was the police.”
“Then what was Babysitter Seo?”
His sexy, intense gaze bound Hyun-Woo so tightly that he could not move an inch. It felt like being pressed down by sleep paralysis in the middle of the night, unable to even move a finger. Hyun-Woo shrank back, wondering if the traffic game had been too premature, when Jun-Woo’s triumphant voice rang out.
“Hyung is the traffic light.”
“The traffic light…… Did you have fun?”
The black eyes that had been staring at Hyun-Woo without blinking moved to Jun-Woo, whose flushed face had turned rosy.
“Are you going to play more?”
“Yeah.”
“Then can Daddy watch?”
“Yeah. You can watch.”
Jun-Woo nodded and turned his head toward Hyun-Woo. It was not something Hyun-Woo had the authority to decide, but at Jun-Woo’s expectant gaze, he barely managed to smile and nod. Just thinking that he had to raise the flags in front of Kang Wook already made his palms sweat. It felt like a rookie teacher holding their first open class in front of parents. Of course, it was not exactly the same, but Hyun-Woo wanted to avoid running into Kang Wook unexpectedly like this.
“Start.”
“Yes, I’ll do my best.”
When Kang Wook urged him on with a nod, Hyun-Woo forced strength into his voice despite his nervousness.
“Just do it the way you would at kindergarten.”
“That’s what I intend to do.”
Holding flags in both hands, Hyun-Woo moved about five meters away from where Jun-Woo was. Jun-Woo, who had already gripped the steering wheel and pressed the start button, was watching carefully to see which flag Hyun-Woo would raise. Feeling Kang Wook’s gaze fixed on him, Hyun-Woo raised the green flag.
“Young master, you may start.”
Man-Jun, who had approached at some point, clapped his hands and livened up the mood. He looked exactly like a gangster, but seeing him smile with his eyes and clap along like some neighborhood “silly big brother” loosened Hyun-Woo’s tension a little. When the car had almost reached him, Hyun-Woo raised the yellow flag. But perhaps because Jun-Woo wanted to look good in front of Kang Wook, he failed to stop the car and ended up passing Hyun-Woo.
“You have committed a traffic violation.”
As if he had been waiting for this, Guk Hee blew the whistle and shouted as he approached Jun-Woo. Jun-Woo stopped the car and looked with startled eyes at the flag Hyun-Woo was holding. More than anyone else, he himself seemed the most surprised. But when Guk Hee even blew the whistle and came over to issue a ticket, Jun-Woo became completely frightened. Seeing tears well up in his eyes and his black pupils turn clear, Hyun-Woo raised a hand and shouted.
“Ah, wait a second.”
Hyun-Woo blocked Guk Hee, who was fully immersed in his role while waving a notebook. In this kind of situation, if Jun-Woo burst into tears because he was upset, he might not go near the car for a while.
“What is it, Babysitter Seo? I’m busy right now.”
“That’s enough. Originally, when it’s a yellow light, you’re supposed to prepare to stop, so it’s okay if he went a little past it.”
“That is not right.”
“I understand, so that’s enough. Jun-Woo got scared.”
“Ah, did I blow the whistle too loudly again? Young master, I apologize.”
Watching Guk Hee stay loyal to his role until the end, Hyun-Woo hesitated over whether he should tell him that Jun-Woo had been more startled by the words “traffic violation.” He confiscated the whistle from Guk Hee and went over to Jun-Woo. Jun-Woo was pouting his lips and looking up at the sky.
