Not Sober - Chapter 42
Chapter 42.
Sungchan sighed deeply as he watched Yena respond without changing her expression.
“Hey, you’re not really h*rny… are you?”
“No.”
“When is that f*cking test going to end?”
“Next week. There’s not much time left, so just wait a little longer. If I just pass this, I’ll grant you one wish, so stop bothering me.”
Yena looked back at the book, as if she was really busy. Even her hand that was writing looked busy.
“You’ll grant my wish?”
“Yes, so stop bothering me! Just endure it for two weeks.”
“Really? No worries?”
Yena nodded her head in response.
“Do you know that I’m a f*cking pervert?”
“Phew, yes. I know it very well.”
“Even if you regret it later, I won’t back down.”
Yena gave Sungchan a short kiss on the cheek as he said that.
“Don’t forget that if I fail that test, you won’t have a wish.”
Sungchan’s eyes changed at those words.
“I’ll go shopping.”
“Suddenly?”
“I’ll go buy some meat.”
Yena burst into laughter as if she had expected it to some extent.
“You need food when you study. Just wait, I’ll work hard to make sure you pass the test.”
Yena eventually laughed out loud at the serious-looking Sungchan. Yena picked up her pen again as she watched Sungchan run away with the basket.
‘I need to get a job soon.’
Sungchan was always full of complaints, asking why she was preparing for a job when she had him, but he didn’t know. Why was Yena trying so hard to get a certification?
‘Then I can buy Oppa a meal.’
From the first time they met, Sungchan had naturally paid all the expenses. Yena was secretly concerned about that fact.
Since she left home like this, the allowance she had received from her parents was naturally cut off. She also gave the money she had saved to Su-ah, who had helped her when she first left home, so there was nothing left.
As Sungchan had done everything for her, Yena also wanted to do something small for Sungchan.
Sungchan would never know Yena’s true feelings.
He was just busy whining, not knowing them.

Yena had devoted herself to the qualification exam all day after school break. Sungchan had no doubt that she would pass.
“……I failed.”
However, the result of waiting desperately for two weeks was disastrous.
“Huh, huh……? What, what did you say?”
Sungchan, who was in shock, asked like an idiot. But Yena didn’t answer anymore. She just lowered her head gloomily.
Sungchan, who was about to ask if she really failed, closed his mouth after checking the monitor screen behind Yena.
“Ah… It’s, it’s, it’s okay! It’s okay to fail. Okay?”
“What company would hire me if I can’t even get one of these certification…”
Yena muttered to herself and sighed deeply despite Sungchan’s consolation.
“It’s okay! It wasn’t even related to your major. R-right? Yena?”
Yena didn’t respond to Sungchan’s efforts. She just sullenly went into the blanket and curled up.
Sungchan, who was upset seeing Yena like that, felt pathetic for having been excited all day thinking about making a wish. Yena just blamed herself in bed without even knowing Sungchan had left the room.
Yena also felt bad about her past self who had confidently told him to wait two weeks.

That day, Sungchan filled the table with Yena’s favorite foods. Of course, it was all Korean beef.
She was already in a bad mood. If he were to ask her to eat out, she might feel like she was being dragged out unwillingly. So Sungchan quickly went to the department store and bought some Grade 9 Korean beef.
Yena looked at the large grill on the table and let out a faint smile.
“What is this? You hate cleaning up oil.”
That’s right. Sungchan was fine with other dishes, but he didn’t like grilling meat at home. He didn’t like the floors in the house getting all oily.
“Well, I didn’t feel like going out to eat today. I just bought some meat.”
He replied calmly and placed several pieces of meat on the heated plate. Then, along with the delicious smell, Yena’s expression became much more relaxed.
Sungchan brought all the meat he had cooked in front of Yena as soon as he finished grilling it. Thanks to that, Yena had to put meat in her mouth without stopping.
“Is it delicious?”
“Yes, it’s really delicious.”
“Thank goodness.”
