I'm a Healer But My Butt is Busy - Ch12
The pupils that had shown nothing but boredom throughout the dungeon hunt now swelled with excitement, clearly revealing that he was enjoying this situation.
Damn it.
Zzzzing—
When the pollen attack failed in Phase 2, the Acling Captain’s attack pattern changed.
A sinister light flowed from its green eyes, and that damned light melted everything—grass, trees, even rocks.
Even a graze would mean death. Though it was a wide-area attack, the power varied wildly, but that laser attack looked lethal no matter who it hit.
The Acling Captain slowly aimed the laser toward me. If I dodged too early, it might notice. I tried to relax my body while rapidly calculating the attack range in my head.
Confident in my reflexes and dynamic vision, I waited until the laser was right upon me, then kicked off the ground and spun through the air.
“Whoa!”
“Hey!”
Exclamations of awe and warnings rang out at the same time. Instinctively, I knew touching the ground would mean death.
What do I do? There was no time to think. My body moved faster than my thoughts.
“Ice Spear!”
I kicked off the sharp tip of an ice spike embedded in the ground and launched myself into the air again.
The laser brushed past my back by a hair’s breadth. Cold sweat ran down my spine. If I’d been even a little slower, I’d be dead.
The Acling roared in frustration and tried to fire the laser again, but fortunately, it seemed the skill was on cooldown.
“You stepped on a skill to dodge?! That’s insane!”
“Whoa… I’ve never seen anything like that.”
My party members shouted from afar, but I was too heated to really hear them.
“Damn it! What the hell are you guys trying to do?!”
This wasn’t just simple PvP leveling—something about the situation didn’t add up.
“Focus.”
I was already trying to, damn it.
Taking a deep breath, I steadied myself and checked the boss’s HP. 12% remaining.
[Harusari has inflicted Killing Intent on the Acling Captain.]
Harusari’s Killing Intent steadily drained the boss’s HP. I added Seed of Malice to amplify the damage and placed a healing field on the ground.
Having fought together a few times, Harusari instantly understood its purpose. When his HP dropped, he’d step onto the healing zone to recover, even briefly.
Now Harusari’s HP was at half.
[The Acling Captain releases its green glare!]
The laser skill was off cooldown again. The grass melted like acid as the beam swept across the ground, and I swallowed hard.
I knew one hit would mean death—but I couldn’t hesitate. Something inside me pushed my body forward.
“Ice Spear, Ice Spear, Ice Spear!”
My mana drained rapidly as I fired the skill repeatedly.
By the fifth spear, frost formed on the Acling Captain’s thin wings. At the same time, its gaze locked onto me, and the green beam crept closer, melting a boulder beside me.
Hold on. I can’t retreat now. If my prediction is right, then Harusari—
“Haha, how about it, Ahn Tae-Seok?”
Harusari suddenly appeared right in front of me.
In the distance, Ahn Tae-Seok stared at us, his face stiff. The other party members gaped in shock, mouths hanging open. Seeing that, I realized no one was going to help us.
“So… you’re just going to let me die like this?”
Harusari turned to me and asked. Knowing what would happen if he died, I had no choice but to cast Wave Sound and Iron Shell on him.
As Harusari’s HP continued to drop, reaching 10%, his eyes turned blood-red. Berserker mode—the class trait. His eyes should’ve been red already, yet now they burned like flames.
Just then, the boss’s skill ended. As if he’d been waiting, Harusari lifted the massive axe on his back and charged forward. Fearing he’d die, I quickly placed a healing field in front of the boss.
The Acling Captain had 9% HP left. Harusari had 8%.
The lower Harusari’s HP dropped, the stronger his damage became—but the 1% gap refused to close.
Gnawing on my nails in anxiety, I cast attack skills whenever the cooldowns ended.
[Harusari’s HP has dropped to 5%.]
His body flickered red.
5% versus 6%.
[Critical hit! You dealt a devastating blow to the Acling Captain!]
Can we win this?!
I kept checking their HPs, but the gap wouldn’t close.
Harusari’s HP dropped to 4%. At this rate, he’d die by a hair’s breadth.
I glanced back, hoping someone might support us—but “Let’s take a break” had already sheathed his weapon and was just watching with his arms crossed.
[Harusari’s HP has dropped to 3%!]
If Harusari died, I would be forcibly deleted as well. And I’d be branded a loser forever.
I couldn’t bear to watch him die, so I squeezed my eyes shut.
[Harusari’s HP has dropped to 2%!]
A moment of absolute crisis. Among my skills, all darkened by cooldowns, one suddenly caught my eye—shining faintly. I had gained a new skill upon leveling up but hadn’t checked it yet after clearing the dungeon.
This is it!
“Two Wave!”
[Two Wave – Sends out two waves of water: one heals allies, the other deals damage to enemies.]
Two streams of water twisted together and surged forward. One was absorbed into Harusari’s body, while the other slammed straight into the boss.
Graaagh!
The Acling Captain’s HP dropped from 2% to 1%. Harusari buried his axe into the monster’s forehead as it screamed in pain.
The Acling Captain collapsed to the ground.
Huff… huff…
The forest fell silent, filled only with the rough breathing of Harusari and me.
The boss’s body crumbled into ash after dropping a few items, scattering into the wind.
Only then did the tension drain from my body, and I collapsed to the ground.
“Holy crap!”
“That was insane!”
From afar, Jeshigan Alba and Byeorak Sikhye shouted excitedly as they ran toward me, shaking my body in excitement.
“Hyung, that was amazing!”
“Are you some kind of top-ranked player or what?”
I waved my hand weakly, trying to stop them, but my strength was completely gone.
I lowered my head, panting heavily, while they continued praising me nonstop.
“Can I add you as a friend?”
“Do you want to join our guild? I just joined recently, but everyone’s really nice.”
[Dungeon cleared. You will be transported outside shortly.]
A floating sensation washed over me as space warped. My sensitive body couldn’t handle it, and I staggered.
“Are you okay?”
“Hyung, want a potion?”
I lifted my head with effort at their worried voices.
“No, I’ll be fine after a moment…”
[Harusari has left the party.]
What? He left the party? Why all of a sudden? What about PvP?
Startled by the system message, I looked for Harusari—but to my surprise, he was already walking toward me.
With his massive axe slung over his shoulder, he looked like he might split me in half at any moment.
That crazy bastard—why is he looking at me like that? Don’t tell me he wants to fight now?
“Hey, PvP can wait—”
Before I could finish, Harusari’s axe sliced through the air, swinging straight down.
“…Damn it.”
I squeezed my eyes shut, expecting the crushing blow—but strangely, the pain never came.
Instead, I heard screams from behind me.
“Harusari! W-what are you doing?! Aaaah!”
“P-please, hyung, spare me!”
In an instant, Jeshigan Alba and Byeorak Sikhye were cut down, their bodies collapsing lifelessly to the ground.
Frozen in shock, I stared as their corpses turned gray.
A cold shadow fell over me.
I swallowed hard and slowly looked up—Harusari stood over me, lips split into a wide, twisted grin.
“Damn flies just keep swarming.”
