Chapter 186

‘…If I use shield magic, wouldn’t I be safe?’

‘Come to think of it, I still had the temporary skill proficiency increase item I got from saving Mien, the descendant of Amyo.’

In addition to ‘Healer’s Mana Use’, I can also increase the proficiency of one more skill!

‘With a grade A shield, I might be able to survive a mana explosion!’

Raymond asked for confirmation.

“How powerful is the mana explosion? Is it so powerful that even the best shields can’t stop it?”

“That’s not true. Of course, the surrounding area will be scorched earth, but those inside the highest level shield will be safe.”

Raymond clenched his fist.

‘Okay! Then even in the worst case scenario, I won’t be in any danger!’

Now that the most important safety issue has been resolved, we decided to move forward.

Of course, he was still scared, but he couldn’t help but step forward when he thought of the aftermath of failure.

“I will help you.”

Everyone looked at Raymond in surprise.

“No, Count?”

“What is that?”

Raymond put on a determined expression as if he was trying to help others.

‘I’m going to risk my life to help. I want to make a good impression.’

Raymond in particular glanced at Laina.

When the opportunity arises, it would be good to make a good impression on that righteous archmage. It would also bring favor to the Magic Tower.

“I am responsible for the people of Rafald. I cannot just sit back and do nothing in this crisis. I will help you.”

As expected, Laina showed the expected reaction.

She made a surprised face with her captivating eyes wide open.

“Wow, that’s amazing. If it were another noble, the first thing they would think about is running away. As expected…Is it the ‘Light’?”

But she shook her head.

“I appreciate your consideration, but it won’t help. You’re a healer. Unless you’re a wizard with innate mana control, you won’t be of much help…”

Laina’s eyes widened as she spoke up to that point.

One thing came to mind.

‘Count Penin is a genius who will revive the Magic Tower!’

It was the word spread on the Magic Tower by her classmate, Shameron.

She laughed it off, thinking, “Even if the healer has talent for magic, it’s nothing.”

But really?

“Please wait a moment.”

Raymond shouted inwardly as he said that.

‘Purchase, use healer’s mana!’

[1,000 skill points are consumed!]

A whopping 1,000 points!

As expected of a legendary skill, it was extremely expensive, but it was not the time to save.

Fortunately, he had accumulated a lot of points so he was able to purchase it without any problems.

Then he shouted immediately afterwards.

‘Increased skill proficiency, healer’s mana usage!’

The healer’s proficiency in using mana has temporarily increased to A-grade.

A feeling he had never experienced before spread throughout his body!

‘Is this the feeling of mana control?’

It wasn’t the feeling he got when he raised his ‘stamina’ and ‘sense’ stats.

Moving mana right away.

It felt like the spiritual limbs that only wizards possess, different from his hands and feet, had become incredibly sensitive.

Raymond put his hand on the white crystal rock with that feeling in his heart.

‘Is it okay to move like this?’

Then, along with the message, something amazing happened.

[You’re working hard for the patient! Demonstrates powerful mana control!]

According to his will, Laina’s Mana started dancing!

Everyone there looked at Raymond in shock.

“Oh, no! That?”

“How can you control your mana like that!”

Controlling external mana in that way was an art that only an Archmage-level magician could achieve.

And yet, he managed to do something like that!

Raymond himself was surprised.

‘Is this really possible?’

In reality, he didn’t know how he could accomplish something like this.

Mana moves just like moving one’s hands and feet naturally.

‘What kind of fraudulent skill is this?’

Come to think of it, ‘Mana Compatibility’, no, now ‘Healer’s Mana Use’ was the most fraudulent skill among all the skills he had.

Because it is a skill that allows him to use the upper, middle, and lower ends.

Raising the proficiency of such a fraudulent skill had a crazy effect.

‘Of course, with the caveat that it can only be used for patients.’

Everyone in the room was surprised, but the most surprised was Archmage Laina.

“Oh, that’s ridiculous. Oh, how could that be?” Laina chanted in a trembling voice.

She was an Archmage. As someone with a deep knowledge of magic, she knew how great what Raymond had just accomplished was.

‘To manipulate the overflowing mana in such a precise way. That would be impossible without being born with a dragon-level talent for mana!’

She swallowed hard.

A word flashed through Laina’s mind.

‘Could it be that he is a natural born wizard?’

A natural wizard!

The legendary talent of a wizard comparable to that of the Heavenly Warrior!

It was a skill that would be impossible without being born with that legendary talent.

‘But that still doesn’t make sense. Even if he’s a natural born wizard, how could he do something like that without studying?’

Even natural magicians are not born strong.

It grows naturally, slowly, like a baby growing up. Such skills are something that even innate magicians can only achieve after they have reached a certain level of maturity.

‘I thought he was still a ‘general’ level wizard? But how did he achieve such skill?’

Then Raymond gave the answer.

“I had a strong desire to help the people Rafald, and it seems that I have been given this miraculous ability, if only for a moment.”

He felt like he had to explain the reason somehow, so h just made up an excuse.

But this lame excuse shocked Laina even more.

‘It’s a temporary awakening where you can see the innate wizard!’

Awakening!

It is a phenomenon in which a natural magician explodes with magical talent out of desperation.

It was clear that Raymond had now awakened to the thought of helping the people.

‘They say that you have to wish so strongly that you’re willing to sacrifice your soul for the awakening phenomenon to occur. How great must his heart be for the people of Rafald to cause the awakening phenomenon?’

She was so shocked.

‘Anyway, that kind of control will be helpful enough.’

At that time, Mana’s trembling grew louder and louder.

At first glance, it seemed like there was no time.

Others hurried out of the mine.

“I will begin now. Your Excellency, I will neutralize the mana within the magic stone.”

She pointed to her chest.

Heart. It was the location of the mana heart.

“If the mana inside my mana heart fluctuates due to the reaction, please stabilize it as much as possible. Is there any ‘medium’ that I can use?”

“What is that?”

“…You don’t even know what a medium is that even an aspirant knows. You really are a crazy genius. It’s like a magic wand. When you use a tool that you’re familiar with, your mana control increases.”

For reference, Laina and Shameron always used the fan they carried around as a medium.

Raymond thought about it for a while and then took something out of his pocket.

“…What is that?”

“It’s called a stethoscope. It’s the one I am familiar with.”

He was familiar with the scalpel, but it was difficult to use as a medium.

Finally, the place where the mana heart is located is the heart.

The Dwarf Stethoscope seemed like a perfect fit as a medium.

“Let’s get started.”

Laina brought the fan to the stone.

Intense mana boiled from her entire body.

“Mana Neutralization!”

An amazing miracle happened with a soft cry!

The mana that had been swaying inside the stone began to turn into smoke and disappear!

“What, what is this?”

“It changes and neutralizes the nature of mana.”

It was a simple explanation, but it was magic with a much more complex principle.

An exquisite magic that interferes with the instability when mana runs wild, changing the properties of adjacent mana to polar opposites and neutralizing them like an acid and a base meeting!

It was the ultimate magic that only the Archmage could use.

‘Indeed, an Arch Mage!’

It was the moment when Raymond let out a cheer as his mana quickly decreased.

Laina groaned.

“Ugh.”

As a reaction, the mana in the mana heart inside her body started to flow backwards!

“Hey, now the mana from my mana heart…”Laina said in a trembling voice.

The backlash was stronger than expected.

If this continues, mana will flow backwards and she will die.

Raymond gritted his teeth.

‘Can I do it?’

Of course, there was no such thing as confidence.

He just gritted my teeth and tried.

The stethoscope touched her heart.

‘It’s all messed up!’

He gritted his teeth and began to control her mana.

Then, Raymond made a surprised face.

‘Her heart is pounding! She is having an arrhythmia!’

Raymond assessed the condition of the heart.

‘Arrhythmia? Could it be that the mana from the Mana Heart actually affects the heart?’

Mana Heart.

It is a storage that creates a virtual space in the heart to accumulate mana.

So it seemed to affect the heart as well.

‘I need to calm down the arrhythmia!’

As the heart vibrated rhythmically, the mana heart located within the heart also vibrated.

The mana that was barely suppressed began to run wild again!

“Ugh, ugh. The Mana’s outburst.”

Laina let out a pained groan.

Raymond looked puzzled.

‘How do I calm arrhythmia? That way I can stabilize my mana as well.’

The problem is that there is currently no way to stabilize the arrhythmia.

‘It’s not like I can take herbs with anti-arrhythmic effects. Electric shock with lightning magic?’

But it was more difficult.

If the electric shock caused Laina to lose consciousness, it was over.

“Huh!”

Laina let out a groan of pain.

Raymond gritted his teeth.

‘Think about it. We have to find a way somehow!’

First, Raymond identified the pattern of Laina’s arrhythmia.

‘Regular tachycardia. What type is it?’

An electrocardiogram was needed to determine the type of arrhythmia, but this was not available at the time.

Raymond focused his stethoscope to get some more clues. Then he realized something surprising.

‘Wait a minute. This isn’t due to electrical signal disturbances in the arrhythmia right now?’

Raymond looked surprised.

The heart beats in response to electrical signals from the myocardium.

A disturbance in that electrical signal is an arrhythmia.

But now, Laina’s condition was different.

‘The heart is moving by mana, not electrical signals!’

Mana was running wild along the heart’s signal pathways.

‘How could this happen?’

He was surprised, but soon understood.

Mana is an intangible force that actually acts on reality.

It also seemed possible to act on the heart instead of electrical signals.

‘Could it be that the magicians’ mana heart reflux refers to this arrhythmia caused by mana?’

[If your mana runs wild, your heart will start beating fast and you will die.]

Raymond remembered what the wizard had said earlier.

‘I think it was probably talking about this phenomenon.’

‘We have to solve it anyway! First, the type of arrhythmia!’

Even if it is caused by mana, an arrhythmia is an arrhythmia. So the principles of arrhythmia treatment must be followed.

‘First, we had to determine what type of arrhythmia it was.’

Instead of an electrocardiogram that detects the direction of electrical signals, Raymond felt the direction in which mana flowed.

He was able to figure out the identity soon.

‘It’s atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT)!’

Mana was endlessly circulating in the atrioventricular node (AV) of the heart, triggering signals.

‘We need to block this ventricular node.’
