Boss, Let’s Not Get Divorce - Chapter 104
Fu Huaixi’s leg surgery has been completed, and he’s now in the recovery period. Yu Aniya has been by his side almost the entire time, leaving her little energy to pay attention to other messy issues.
By the time she realized what was happening, Xie Zhang and Xie Qing had already been put behind bars.
After Yu Sinian finished explaining the situation, he added, “The evidence is conclusive. It turns out they were also the masterminds behind the car accident involving the Xie couple nine years ago. According to criminal law, it’s the death penalty. Although they plan to appeal, it’s unlikely the higher courts will overturn the sentence.”
Yu Aniya’s expression turned vacant for a moment. The most vicious demons she had encountered in her life had finally met their retribution.
“They deserved it,” she said. “But I pity the child, Chengfeng.”
“No need to feel sorry for him. Xie Zhenhai has entered the ICU, and it seems unlikely he’ll pull through.”
Yu Aniya was stunned. “What happened?”
Yu Sinian replied calmly, “Old age and a severe illness. His days were numbered anyway.” As for the last time Chengfeng met Xie Zhenhai in the ICU and what was said, there was no need to dwell on it.
Returning to the country, Chengfeng had not gone back to the capital but had come to S City to see Yu Sinian, effectively erasing any remaining affection for his grandfather.
“Mom, now you can finally let it all go,” Zheng Shu comforted.
“Yes.” The nightmares that haunted her night after night had finally come to an end. Yu Aniya’s heart was filled with mixed emotions, beyond words.
This was the end of the Xie family’s story, but what about the Yu family?
After more than twenty years, her parents had both passed, and Yu Aniya could no longer question her mother about that day when she’d called out to her. Was it intentional, or just a passing remark?
But there was still one person left.
“Yu Xinhai, what happened to him?”
Yu Aniya had long stopped mentioning him. They were siblings who had grown up together, with an inseparable bond, but her happiness had been ruined by her own brother! Not only that, but the future of the boy she loved was also shattered.
How could there be such a detestable person, her own blood?
“The Yu family went bankrupt. Yu Xinhai killed someone and fled the country. Now he’s missing, wanted by the police, but… he may never come back.”
Zheng Shu turned to look at Yu Sinian, who remained unfazed as he said, “You can consider him dead.”
Yu Aniya nodded and asked no more.
As the conversation grew heavy, Zheng Shu changed the subject. “How is Mr. Fu’s leg? Will he be able to recover?”
A smile appeared on Yu Aniya’s face. “The surgery was quite successful. Once the wound heals, he can start rehab. The doctor mentioned that, due to his age, recovery will be slower, but he should be able to stand again with time.”
Standing again would be like a rebirth.
“That’s wonderful news! When will he be discharged? Let’s go pick him up together.”
“Next week.”
Whatever lay ahead between Yu Aniya and Fu Huaixi, her guilt over his legs would always be a hurdle, one she could only slowly work to overcome.
Once Yu Aniya left, Zheng Shu immediately tackled Yu Sinian, pinning him to the sofa, and demanded, “Tell me where Yu Xinhai is!”
Supporting Zheng Shu by the waist, Yu Sinian feigned surprise. “How would I know?”
“You don’t?”
Yu Sinian grinned, about to shake his head when Zheng Shu stared him down with a cold, piercing gaze. “Don’t lie to me. If I find out you’re lying, I’ll be very angry—so angry that I won’t be easily coaxed!”
Yu Sinian thought for a moment before asking, “How angry?”
Zheng Shu replied mercilessly, “No birthday gift for you!”
That tactic hit Sinian right in his weak spot.
“I’ll give you one more chance. Really, you don’t know?”
Zheng Shu’s fierce stance was both intimidating and amusing, so Yu Sinian stopped himself from shaking his head and replied seriously, “I’ll confess.”
“Hmph, go on.”
“…He’s in a slum in Country M.” His account had been emptied by Chengfeng, and with no identification, he would be in unimaginable trouble in such a chaotic place. If Yu Sinian spent a bit of money to have people exact revenge, his fate would be easy to predict.
Once again, lying to him!
Zheng Shu scoffed and grabbed him by the throat. “Oh, so you think I’m too impulsive and uncivilized, yet here you are acting just the same, Mr. Yu!”
Yu Sinian laughed while protesting, “Are you trying to murder your husband?”
“Ha, I barely used any force!” Zheng Shu huffed, sitting firmly on top of him twice. He’d never actually kill him, but sitting on him to death—why not!
This man was getting worse and worse!
Yu Sinian’s expression changed slightly, and he quickly rolled him off, pinning Zheng Shu’s hands, and apologized, “My bad, let’s not fight, alright?”
“No way!”
“You won’t relent?”
“Hmph, let me go right now!” Zheng Shu demanded sharply.
“Alright.” As soon as Sinian let go, he scooped him up instead. “Then let’s go argue in the bedroom.” Zheng Shu was speechless. Shameless!
“Want to?” Sinian asked as he climbed the stairs. The weekend was precious; only a fool would say no. Zheng Shu only grumbled softly without answering.
“Ah Shu?”
Zheng Shu wanted to punch him. “What are you asking for? Can’t you see I’m not resisting?” Could he not get the hint? Where was the marital intuition!
Yu Sinian chuckled at his reaction, finding it adorable.
…
“Ah Shu.”
“Mm?”
“Where’s my birthday present?” Taking advantage of Zheng Shu’s half-asleep state, Sinian whispered in his ear.
He’d searched the room and hadn’t found the big box.
“Not telling you,” Zheng Shu murmured, rolling over and closing his eyes.
Late that night, Xie Chengfeng texted Yu Sinian: “[Xie Zhenhai has passed.]”
The next morning, seeing the message, Yu Sinian replied with two words: “[Congratulations.]”
* * *
After dominating the headlines for half a month, with Xie Zhenhai’s burial and Xie Zhang and Xie Qing facing the death penalty, the long-standing feud of the Xie family finally concluded.
Fengyu welcomed its new chairman, Xie Chengfeng, taking the reins at the top.
Although Fengyu and the Xie family were gravely wounded, a skinny camel is still bigger than a horse. At Xie Chengfeng’s inauguration, industry heavyweights gathered to congratulate him.
The seasoned veterans no longer believed the luck-based narratives floating online. With Xie Chengfeng in his position and his enemies vanishing, his role in these events became clear.
A person ruthless to both enemies and himself would surely be a formidable opponent in the business world, despite his youth.
Moreover… Yu Sinian and Zheng Shu, holding wine glasses, approached Xie Chengfeng, and the three clinked glasses, sharing laughter. Their bond was clearly deep.
With such a cousin around, a resurgence for the Xie family didn’t seem impossible.
Rumor had it that the twin commercial complexes remained unaffected, bustling with activity, as if everything had been meticulously planned.
“Zheng Shu, thanks for attending. Since you rarely come to the capital, let me be your guide for some sightseeing,” Xie Chengfeng offered, exuding confidence in a white tailored suit that accentuated his striking looks. His charming smile set hearts aflutter among the ladies present.
Zheng Shu chuckled. “Do I need you to guide me around?” Known as a socialite, he’d already made plans.
“And stop that flaunting. I’ll take a photo and send it to someone special.”
Chengfeng touched his nose in embarrassment. “Is your big fish open to investors?”
“For what?”
“Just to join in the fun.”
“Oh, well…” Zheng Shu glanced at the man beside him.
Yu Sinian replied coolly, “The big fish is fully funded and doesn’t accept investors, but there’s room for you in the film city project.”
“Film city?”
“Yep. We just started, with heavy initial investment, and are looking for funding. How many shares would you like?” Zheng Shu asked with a smile.
“You’re…”
“Out of money.”
Chengfeng was surprised. “Impossible! How could the richest man be out of money?”
“Even the richest man can’t afford to waste it! Ask him—how much cash do we have? Enough for my film city investment?”
When it came to this matter, Zheng Shu was still angry. Handing over his salary was his way of showing his attitude—he didn’t limit his wife’s spending. But he hadn’t expected him to burn through it so fast. Today, on a whim, he checked the account, only to find it almost empty!
Xie Chengfeng nudged Yu Sinian with an elbow, looking gleeful at the chaos. “Come clean, where have you been throwing money around behind your wife’s back?”
Yu Sinian merely glanced at him lazily. “Weren’t you using my money to win people over just the other day? And you didn’t even pretend to be innocent about it.”
Xie Chengfeng: “…” Oh, right, he’d been helping out this unlucky brother.
He leaned in, whispering, “I thought you agreed so quickly because you had authorization; turns out you were just trying to look rich.”
Yu Sinian smirked. “If I didn’t, would you still be standing here? Beneficiary, you don’t get to complain. Investing or not?”
“Alright, alright,” Xie Chengfeng surrendered when he saw Zheng Shu glaring his way. “Sister-in-law, I’ll cover whatever’s short, happy now?”
“Better.” Zheng Shu raised an eyebrow, then relaxed and winked at Yu Sinian.
Yu Sinian took a sip of champagne, hiding a hint of a smile.

Since Zheng Shu was in Beijing, he also had to visit Yu Sinian’s tech company.
Although DomainTech had yet to officially go public, its leading-edge AI technology had already attracted a vast customer base, all eagerly waiting for its launch day.
As soon as Lin Zicheng saw Zheng Shu, he enthusiastically grasped both his hands and exclaimed, “Yu Sinianmarried well! Thanks to him, we’re all on the rise! Just look at his wife’s bright smile—way more charming than Yu Sinian’s iceberg expression!”
“Yeah, Yu Sinian’s got no sense of fun. We’re always worried his wife might dump him one day, and we’d lose our good days along with him!”
Yu Sinian chuckled. Fun? Was he supposed to save that for these rough guys?
“Relax, Brother Sinian and I are great together; I won’t kick him to the curb.” Zheng Shu grabbed Yu Sinian’s hand reassuringly.
“Alright, you guys get back to work; we’re heading out.”
“Hey, aren’t we grabbing lunch together?” Lin Zicheng asked.
“It’s Brother Sinian’s birthday today—we’re celebrating alone,” Zheng Shu said.
The group suddenly realized, while Feiyu muttered jealously, “What a goldmine of a spouse—I want one too.”
“Me too~”
“Count me in~”
All of them cast Yu Sinian envious looks, feigning dismay.
“Is your work done, or are you just this free?” Yu Sinian asked coolly. “If it’s not done, hurry up. Quarter’s almost over, and you’re all hanging around here.”
Lin Zicheng snorted, “Like you’ve approved all the orders yourself, Chairman Yu? You’re too busy with Wanhuang to even bother with DomainTech.”
“Tomorrow.”
“Says who?”
Yu Sinian held up his ringed hand, adjusting his glasses. “Because I have a partner.”
Lin Zicheng: “…Dammit!”
Feiyu muttered, “Discrimination—this is blatant discrimination!”
“Right, he’s crossing the line—personal attacks even!”
Zheng Shu tilted his head, finding the scene a bit funny.
But Yu Sinian wasn’t swayed, saying, “If anyone here has a partner, they’re free to apply for leave. Any takers?”
The DomainTech employees exchanged glances, finding not a single one qualified for the perk.
Yu Sinian chuckled. “Let’s go, Ah Shu. No need to bother with them.” He took Zheng Shu’s hand and guided him through the crowd of disappointed men.
All their youth, all their passion—they were feeding it all to the capitalist machine, for nothing!
Those glasses-wearing, code-stressed techies, crushed by life’s hardships, looked a bit pitiful to Zheng Shu.
In the car, he asked Yu Sinian, “Brother Sinian, do you have a work group chat?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Can you add me? Just for a little while.”
For such a small request, Yu Sinian added Zheng Shu to the company chat without a second thought.
Before anyone could react to this new member, a rain of red envelopes fell from the sky—a delightful sound of money hitting accounts.
Generous Zheng Shu showered the group with three rounds of blessings.
Zheng Shu: [So happy to meet everyone. Thanks for all your hard work! Tonight’s expenses are on Brother Sinian’s tab. Love you all~ Big kiss.JPG]
Within seconds, the IT team showed their speed. Everywhere, people were scrambling to grab the red envelopes.
Soon, the company chat exploded, with 99+ new messages accumulating in no time.
Yu Sinian opened the app, bemused.
[Is this what winning feels like? It smells amazing!]
[If Young Master Zheng needs anything, we DomainTech boys will gladly give our lives!]
[Thanks, boss! Thanks, sponsor! Thanks, big shot! Prostrating.gif—on repeat.]
[If Yu Sinian dares wrong you, say the word, and we’ll rough him up from coast to coast!]
[@Yu Sinian, what’re you waiting for? Hurry up and give the sponsor a few kisses for us!]
[Ahhhhh, you’re my dream!]
[Ah, the power of love! Make it burn brighter, please! Begging with a bowl in hand.JPG]
…
So foolish—Yu Sinian could hardly bear to look, but seeing Zheng Shu happily interacting with his employees, he couldn’t help but smile.

Falling Cloud Terrace was a newly opened hot spring resort in the Beijing suburbs. Nestled halfway up the mountain, it was scenic and entirely built in traditional wooden architecture with raised eaves and lanterns hanging from the corners.
A pair of attendants with traditional hairstyles led the way with lanterns, their light dancing through the steamy mist rising from the hot springs as they walked along bamboo-paved paths, lending the place an otherworldly feel.
“This place…”
“What do you think? Does it have the vibe?” Zheng Shu looked back at Yu Sinian. “It took me forever to find this place. It’s member-only and not open to the public.” Meaning it was pricy, with top-notch service and privacy.
Yu Sinian looked deeply at Zheng Shu and murmured, “That makes me even more curious about tonight’s surprise.”
Zheng Shu’s face reddened instantly. “Why are you only thinking about that?”
“Thinking about what?”
“Don’t play innocent—did you snoop?”
Yu Sinian replied with complete seriousness, “No, you hid it so well I couldn’t find it.”
Zheng Shu couldn’t believe it. “You actually looked?”
Yu Sinian chuckled deeply, almost proudly. “What guy could resist? But, Ah Shu, bringing me here tonight—is there a theme?”
Zheng Shu blushed. “Guess for yourself. Let’s go, to the room.”
***
The room at Falling Cloud Terrace was designed in the style of an ancient wooden chamber with a draped canopy around the bed. The subtle scent from a nearby incense burner blended with the moist air, the floating curtains adding a touch of ethereal charm.
Yu Sinian glanced out the window in surprise. To his amazement, just beyond lay a natural hot spring, steaming in the open air. Though enclosed by artificial mountains on three sides, it offered complete privacy and connected directly to the room, with only a bamboo screen dividing them.
“Come on, hurry up and change. When you’re here, you have to blend into the ambiance,” Zheng Shu said, pushing him toward the changing room.
Now truly curious, Yu Sinian recalled the rather daring photos Zheng Shu had once sent him. Those past themes didn’t seem to fit tonight—was there something new?
The thought scratched at his mind, like a kitten pawing for attention, making him want to “question” Zheng Shu right then and there.
After leading him into the room, Zheng Shu prepared to leave. Yu Sinian eyed the traditional garments in the room, watching him intently. “You’re not changing here?”
Zheng Shu’s gaze wavered for a moment. “Keep dreaming—I’m changing outside.”
Yu Sinian’s eyebrows raised, his eyes suddenly deep and knowing, as though he could see right through Zheng Shu’s thoughts.
Zheng Shu met his gaze, his heart pounding wildly. The thought of what was about to happen made him feel so embarrassed he nearly wanted to disappear.
Even though they had already done more intimate things together, this particular act was something he’d only done once before, and the experience was a bit… intense.
Clearing his throat, he whispered, “Um… if I don’t call for you, you’re not allowed to come in, understood?” Zheng Shu bit his lip, reminding him.
Yu Sinian nodded. “Alright.”
Zheng Shu was about to close the door, but feeling uncertain, he turned back and added, “And no peeking!”
Yu Sinian stifled a laugh and solemnly vowed, “I swear, I’ll listen to Young Master Zheng.”
Zheng Shu felt somewhat reassured, but just as he turned to leave, Yu Sinian asked, “Want to take a bath first?”
Zheng Shu paused.
Yu Sinian raised a loosely clenched fist to his nose, looking a bit embarrassed. “I’m worried I might not have the time later.”
Zheng Shu’s barely-contained embarrassment surged up again. He snapped, “Why take a bath? Isn’t there a hot spring right over there? Why don’t we just—” He clamped his mouth shut before finishing, his face turning as red as a tomato, as if he’d combust with the slightest push.
Bang! He shut the door firmly.
Yu Sinian rubbed his nose.
Behind the screen beside the bed, Zheng Shu pulled out a small box. Layer by layer, he unwrapped it and lifted out a sheer, cloud-patterned silk robe, along with a bold red belly band and a pair of nearly transparent, thin pants barely covering anything.
Zheng Shu: “…This is truly decadent.” It was even more embarrassing than being completely naked.
He glanced at the door; faint rustling sounds inside suggested that Yu Sinian was changing.
Since he’d booked it and brought it all this way, he had to wear it.
Just as he summoned the courage to start undressing, there was a sudden knock at the door.
Zheng Shu went to open it, and two beautiful attendants greeted him with a bow. “Young Master, sorry for the intrusion.”
One held a tray, the other a wine goblet, and they set them down on the table, then courteously exited, bowing again in a style reminiscent of ancient customs.
Zheng Shu swiftly latched the door.
“Ah Shu?” Yu Sinian called from inside, hearing the commotion.
“It’s fine, just room service bringing water.”
“Oh. Can I come out now?”
“Are you done changing?” Zheng Shu was surprised.
“Mm-hmm.”
Zheng Shu felt a bit regretful; he should’ve ordered a set for Yu Sinian, too. That way, they’d both share the embarrassment!
“Can I then…”
“No coming in!” Zheng Shu reflexively stopped him, “I… I’m not ready yet.”
Yu Sinian chuckled, “Oh, how much longer?”
“What are you so impatient about?” Zheng Shu took off his clothes and picked up the fabric pieces, gritting his teeth as he pushed through the embarrassment and put them on.
This outfit was easier to wear than the last one with the rose thorns; it wasn’t as complicated to put on. But with everything semi-covered, just barely teasing yet revealing, it was far worse.
He looked over his shoulder at the wide bed and laid down slowly. After a moment, he picked up the tray within arm’s reach, picked up a small cherry, held it to his lips, and braced himself, saying softly, “…Come on in.”
Some surprises required patience, like fine wine, building anticipation over time.
Yu Sinian pushed the door open and looked up, parting the gauzy curtains as he stepped around the screen. There lay Zheng Shu on the bed, half-reclined, biting a cherry. His gaze shifted ever so slightly, smiling faintly, before his tongue flicked playfully at the cherry.
Just that one small move stirred the peaceful air, creating a storm in Yu Sinian’s heart.
Yu Sinian’s gaze lowered, taking in the scene inch by inch… and he drew in a sharp breath.
Zheng Shu could see the change in the man’s eyes, his steps deliberate as he drew closer, with a restrained intensity that felt less like affection and more like… hunger.
Zheng Shu gulped, struggling to maintain his “Fallen Immortal” persona, but couldn’t withstand the man’s growing presence. When Yu Sinian took hold of his ankle, he instinctively squeaked, “No eating people!”
Yu Sinian couldn’t help but laugh. Just that little plea stripped away any mystical aura, leaving only a straightforward, somewhat adorable person.
He scooped Zheng Shu up in one movement. The transparent silk brushed across Yu Sinian’s face as he whispered, blushing, “W-what are you doing?”
“Unwrapping my birthday gift.”
Soon, the bamboo screen lifted, revealing the warm spring. Mist swirled and steamed in the night air.
Moments later, soft voices echoed, mingling with the gentle rippling of water.
“Brother Sinian…”
“Happy birthday…”
Above, the bright full moon hung high, but its reflection in the spring below had been shattered, unable to reform.
