But with Fengyu, he could become the largest shareholder!

Was this an offer he could refuse?

Likewise, Xie Zhenhai gazed at Yu Sinian, tapping lightly on his wheelchair armrest. His assistant then took a document from his bag, placed it on the desk before Yu Sinian, and helpfully opened it.

Emma’s eyes caught sight of it, and her pupils shrank—it was a share transfer agreement.

What a bold move, coming in and making a direct offer right off the bat!

“Years of regret—Grandpa couldn’t make up for it, but I hope you’ll go far, Chengrui. You have the ability, and that makes me genuinely happy.” Xie Zhenhai’s expression was somewhat muted, but his tone was steady.

For someone like Yu Sinian, who stands at the top of society, simple words wouldn’t really sway his heart. Xie Zhenhai wasn’t about to waste energy on low-level tactics to win him over; instead, he showed his utmost sincerity. He trusted that anyone with a bit of ambition and resolve wouldn’t turn this down.

The office fell dead silent.

On the 20th floor of the Wanhuang Building, it was just as quiet. No one said a word, and the employees couldn’t focus on work. Though they remained at their workstations, their attention was fixated on the CEO’s office. Their phones occasionally buzzed with messages from colleagues on other floors asking for updates.

But nobody dared even a glance in that direction.

When Zheng Shu walked in carrying a lunch box and a bouquet of roses, he immediately sensed the unusual atmosphere.

He placed a gentle hand on the shoulder of a young guy in the president’s office. “What’s up? Why so tense for a bit of slacking off?”

The junior staff member jumped in shock, looking up to meet Zheng Shu’s curious gaze with a startled expression.

“Mr. Zheng? You’re here early today!”

“It’s already half past eleven; how is that early?” Zheng Shu’s gaze swept across the workstations, holding back his curiosity. “Why are you all staring at Sinian’s office? What, is someone getting chewed out in there, a bit of monkey-see-monkey-do discipline?” He made a slicing motion at his neck.

A nearby young woman said, “No one’s getting scolded. It’s just…the chairman of Fengyu is here.”

“Xie Zhenhai?”

Dozens of heads nodded in unison.

Zheng Shu’s face darkened. “What’s he doing here?”

“Mr. Zheng, do you plan on going in?”

Zheng Shu stretched his neck, straining to hear something. Silence. The kind that foreshadows a storm. So, seeing no need for his intervention, he decided, “Forget it, I’ll wait.”

In the office, after a long pause, Yu Sinian finally reached out and picked up the transfer agreement. He read it carefully, as though reviewing an important document.

Xie Zhenhai didn’t touch his tea, as his physical condition made even that simple gesture tiring. Yet he remained calm, not even closely watching Yu Sinian.

Like any authoritarian patriarch, he believed he controlled the entire family, equating it with the right to dictate and expecting total obedience. He could give willingly, but he would never allow any descendant to seize what was his.

Yet Xie Chengfeng’s actions challenged his authority directly, and he found that intolerable!

After ten minutes, Yu Sinian put down the agreement and said, “Chairman Xie.”

Xie Zhenhai looked over, surprised to see Yu Sinian, who had maintained a cold expression since the beginning, suddenly show a mild smile—a look that finally seemed satisfactory.

He then heard Yu Sinian say, “Thank you for your generosity and trust. I’m willing to accept.”

Xie Zhenhai’s face immediately showed a smile. He knew it: with enough benefits, anyone could be won over, no matter the hurt suffered in the past. Twenty years was long enough to erase any pain!

“Yes, I would like to make a small amendment,” Yu Sinian continued.

Xie Zhenhai nodded. “Go ahead.”

Instead of speaking, Yu Sinian picked up a pen, striking through a name in the stock transfer agreement and writing in another. He then folded it and handed it to Xie Zhenhai’s assistant, gesturing for the old man to review.

“If you’re agreeable,” Yu Sinian said, reclining against the back of his chair, hands folded on his lap in calm composure, “I’ll take over Fengyu’s mess.”

Emma, standing nearby, was stunned into silence. It turned out the dealings of tycoons were not something an ordinary person like her could foresee; her level of understanding was simply inadequate.

…Wasn’t this a bit too much like a romance novel?

When Emma saw what Yu Sinian had changed, she was entirely speechless.

She held back, glancing at Xie Zhenhai and wondering if she should call an ambulance in advance—she was afraid the old man might not be able to withstand this shock.

Yu Sinian’s hand moved so quickly that Xie Zhenhai, with his poor eyesight, didn’t catch what had changed. Gesturing to the arm of his wheelchair, he signaled for his assistant to tell him.

The assistant opened the document, his gaze swept across the page, and his eyes widened in shock, showing disbelief. “This….” He glanced at Yu Sinian.

Yu Sinian twirled the pen in his hand, his expression cool, looking completely at ease.

Swallowing, the assistant said, “Chairman….”

“What’s been changed?” Xie Zhenhai demanded.

“Take a look for yourself.” The assistant fetched reading glasses for him and helped him put them on.

Yu Sinian’s writing was clear and bold. Two forceful lines crossed out his own name as the transferee and replaced it with two powerful characters: Zheng Shu.

Zheng Shu!

Xie Zhenhai stared, stunned, at the name on the paper, then slowly raised his head to stare intently at the calmly impassive Yu Sinian.

“Are you joking with me?” he asked, his voice sharp with anger.

Yu Sinian spoke calmly, “There’s a printer right there. Make the adjustment and print it again. Once we sign, it will take effect immediately.”

Xie Zhenhai’s breathing grew heavier and more rapid.

How could this be? Why? Handing over the gain to someone else was absurd!

“Chairman Xie, do you agree? If so, I’ll call my partner over to sign.”

“….”

“He and I are legally married, so this transfer agreement will be enforceable. You can rest assured, as with Wanhuang, I’ll sign a holding agreement and a joint action agreement with him. I certainly won’t use Fengyu for amusement.”

“Unbelievable!” Xie Zhenhai broke into a fit of coughing.

Handing it over to Yu Sinian was barely acceptable since he was still part of the Xie family, but Zheng Shu? Who was he, trying to rename Fengyu to Zheng?

“You’re so ruthless, determined to anger your grandfather…” He gasped for breath between coughs.

Yu Sinian turned to Emma, “Emma, dial emergency services, and bring a glass of water for him.”

“Understood.”

Emma picked up her phone in a daze, dialing 120 as she walked out.

As she exited the office, the employees awaiting outside all perked up, and Master Zheng curiously asked, “Is it over?”

Emma looked at Zheng Shu with a complex expression, noting his seven roses and the lunch bag, feeling at a loss for words.

“Mr. Zheng.”

“Hm?”

“It’s over; you can go in,” Emma said, heading for the break room.

Xie Zhenhai was eventually taken away by the emergency services, marking the end of his day.

After hearing the whole story, Zheng Shu was so stunned he dropped his chopsticks. “Are you serious? If the old man agreed, then the shares would be mine?”

Yu Sinian, eating his lunch, nodded but added, “Don’t get your hopes up; the old man wouldn’t agree.”

“Of course he wouldn’t. Who would’ve thought a big slacker like me would end up as the big winner? Heh heh.” Zheng Shu felt elated, as though he was just a step away from becoming the richest man in the world.

Yu Sinian gave him a sidelong glance. “Enough with the daydreaming—hurry up and eat.”
